During your nursing elective abroad in Africa and Asia, you will encounter a wide range of medical conditions, many of which are less common in high-resource settings. Working in low-resource hospitals and clinics, you'll gain hands-on experience managing these conditions while adapting to different healthcare systems and cultural approaches to care.

Infectious & Communicable Diseases

✔️ HIV/AIDS & Opportunistic Infections – Tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, candidiasis, toxoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, and Kaposi’s sarcoma.
✔️ Malaria – A major public health concern, often presenting with fever, chills, anemia, and organ complications.
✔️ Typhoid & Cholera – Gastrointestinal infections caused by poor sanitation, leading to dehydration and severe complications.
✔️ Tuberculosis (TB) – Prevalent in both pulmonary and extrapulmonary forms, often seen in conjunction with HIV/AIDS.
